Digestive manifestations of SARS-COV2 infection in Togo

Objective: to identify the main digestive manifestations related SARS-CoV-2 in Togo and determine their impact on prognosis of disease. Patients method: This was a cross-sectional study with retrospective prospective collection, descriptive analytical aims, conducted from May 1, 2020 April 30, 2021 at national center for management infectious diseases Lome. both sexes any age, tested positive by PCR nasopharyngeal oropharyngeal samples hospitalized disease Lome were included this study. Digestive divided into gastrointestinal hepatobiliary manifestations. The threshold significance tests retained p value less than or equal 0.05. Results: out 876 patients during period, 215 presented manifestations, corresponding prevalence 24.54%. predominance male, male/female sex ratio 1.74. mean age 46.07+/-16.14 [02 months – 82 years]. found 11.98% cases. abdominal pain most frequent symptom (15.35%). represented cytolysis syndrome (44.19%) cholestasis (36.28%). associated renal failure (p=0.03) thrombocytosis (p<0.01). occurrence death decrease HDL-cholesterol (p<0.001) presence (p=0.027). cure rate our 83.72% lethality 16.27%. Conclusion: constitute not negligible form revelation coronavirus 2019. best prevention is vaccination respect measures social distanciation.
